Procrastination: The art of not doing what I am supposed to be doing...

Who wants to write an art history research paper anyways? I mean how much fun am I having right now analyzing how rulers in Greece and Rome use art and architecture to reflect their power, NOT as fun as it sounds. I thought instead I would take a break and recap the weekend, fun times!

This weekend GMA J came and visited, I love having guests and opening our sweet little home! Of course she brought us yummy food, our fridge is packed with all kinds of wonderful tamales, she even put them in snack packs for us! She has been wanting to come visit us for so long, so I finally called her up and said this is the weekend. My GMA is one of the most amazingly faithful and hardworking woman I know, and well she needed a break, and Adolfo and I decided to spoil her, lol, what we do best!!

Friday night was filled with a nice glass of wine and lots and lots of stories, and one long game of chicken foot, we are a dominoes family! Saturday, I had to visit and art museum in the AM, then we loaded up the car and headed to SA with me, A & his mom, and my GMA. What a road trip! We did tons of shopping, it wore me out! Our plan was to hit multiple stores, well we only made it to 2, lol! Then it was off to dinner with my sister.

A & his Mom....
C, GMA and C ..... enjoying the rocking chairs....

We had a wonderful time catching up, and taking my GMA to a new restaurant. They might have not known us when we got there, but they sure knew us by the time we left, lol. After that we just hung out at Claudia's place and relaxed and went through tons of OLD pictures, we haven't laughed that hard since I can't remember. We enjoyed having our GMA stay with us, and seeing us in our elements. Our weekend ended with a nice breakfast, and then our weekend was over. We had so much fun, I am STILL exhausted! After we said our goodbyes my parents and T called and said they were in Austin, so we met up with them for some more shopping and dinner!

GAP was having an awesome sale on jeans, so of course Tay was checking it out! What can I say, we did not leave empty handed, and I went down a whole jean size, gotta love that!!!!

Tay waiting at the GAP, goofing off, whats new?

Adolfo and my DAD had some great bonding time at Borders and Academy, and then the weekend was over, just like that. Boy time flys when you are having a great time! I am so happy and thankful we get a 3 day weekend, but I haven't even started thinking about our plans!!!!!

Well we hope you all enjoy your short week, I will just as soon as I get this research paper done, lol, is it a problem that I have absolutely no sense of urgency about it?

OH P.S. This weekend I found out Adolfo wants 3 babies, lol, this is new, I was completely content with our make believe family of 4, guess we to might be the party of 5, lol. Thought I would share....

Lovin' the short week, The Castros.

Gone Fishin'

This past weekend we headed back home. Although there was probably plenty of other things we needed to be doing, it was nice to step away and just enjoy being outside. Saturday morning we got up really early and went fishing. This is my 1st time to actually join Adolfo on his excursion, and well it probably was my last, lol. All I can say is it takes a really dedicated soul to enjoy fishing! But I enjoyed attempting it, and seeing him in his element, but I think it is best for us both, if I continue to be the encourager, and he continues to be the fisherman, we know our roles and we accept them, lol.

On the river, EARLY in the morning! We had been out there for awhile, and yes that is the sun rising....

Headed out for my 1st fishing trip...

Adolfo doing what he does best, biggest catch of the day....

Me, doing what I do best. We focused on my casting, and well I caught a tree, a bush, and then I cast it so high, my line got all tangled so I spent the rest of the afternoon getting it untangled. He said it couldn't be done, well I did it, no knots left!

Later that evening we had a graduation party to attend for one of my cousins. We had a really good time catching up with family and playing with babies!
This is my cousin baby Augie, he is the best baby ever, No tears and beautiful big brown eyes, I just wanted to take him home!

Adolfo and his dancing partner Baby Elsa! She LOVES to dance, so this is Adolfo dancing the electric slide with her, lol. Her parents went dancing up to the time she was born so we just think it is a natural feeling for her, don't you just want to SQEEZE her!

Mr. and Mrs. all danced out! I am feeling it now....

And who can forget my sweet little Tay, We always manage to get your best shot!!

Sunday we got up early and went to church with my family, and then the usual Sunday stop at El Charros for breakfast with the church group. We were so tired we went to my parents and slept till the big games, yeah for Texas boo for the Lakers, but what can I say, it had to happen sooner or later, so let this be it and better luck next year!

Hope you all have a beautiful week, as for the Castro's study, study, study!

Wish us luck! A & C.

Did you say a TORNADO!

THANK GOD I got out of class early this evening! On my way to class I heard on the radio that there was a tornado watch in Burnet county, and well since I have been here if it is in that area it will soon hit Cedar Park and then us. Well thankfully we got out a half hour early tonight! As soon as I got out I had a call from my Mom, she knows Adolfo and I don't watch the news as much as we should, and she just wanted to make sure we were safe because it was supposed to get bad.

I got home and I saw nothing but big flashes of lightening the whole way home. All I could think about was what are the odds I could get hit from my car to my front door. Well we started noticing that the sky looked awesome and we went outside to see what was blowing in, because we could tell it was blowing in fast from Cedar Park, the bright side is we got to meet alot of our neighbors and just chilled outside talking and waiting!

When it started looking more serious we all decided to go into our houses, and about that time another neighbor came out and said that a tornado had hit ground pretty close to where we lived....AHHH! So we went inside and saw this.....PINK is NOT a good color....especially when it is around where you live!
We have never experienced it before, and we didn't know what to expect, KXAN just kept telling us, to find the safest place in your house and stay there until they tell us its ok, just turn the volume up.... So Adolfo shut all the doors with window, flying glass isn't good, then it got really dark and the hail started coming down really hard, pour cars! We will see the damage in the AM. But my job was to get pillows and blankets in the tub, we waited here a little bit, since this is the safest place in our house. Cozy huh? Adolfo was like, Babe your taking a picture NOW, and I just had to remind him this was our 1st Tornado experience together, Documentation babe!

The storm blew over, and we now know how to handle ourselves if it passes by us again in the near future. Adolfo is so excited to get on the water this weekend to see if it did anything on the river, lol. Maybe, maybe not, just let my husband wish!
Safe and sound, Sweet dreams and have a safe and happy weekend! The Castros.

My husband makes me smile!

Can you believe it is already Thursday? Things are picking up around la casa de la Castros! Summer school has begun, I have my first test next week and Adolfo gave his 1st presentation tonight and got a perfect score!

We have spent alot of time together this week just being together, NO TV, just us talking, laughing, learning and I am so grateful for this time, because well it doesn't happen as much as we wish! It is so hard to not let our calendars get the best of us. So this week we spent our time regrouping, and I must say it is a sweet place to be!

Adolfo had a big presentation due today, so Monday night we ate dinner at Subway by our house and sat on the patio discussing the direction of his presentation, and then just catching up! We have so many benches at our apartment, and we didn't feel like going inside. We just spread out on a bench, practiced his speech, talked about life and reflected about where we were almost six years ago! Life has flown by, and I really can't remember the last time we just laid on our backs, looked at the sky and just had a great conversation. I am smiling right now!

Tuesday night I had class and I came home to a sweet surprise. Adolfo had done the laundry, dishes and cleaned the house! To be honest, he is a way better cleaner than I am, I can organize the heck out of the house, but man he leaves it BEAUTIFUL! So thank you babe for making my WEEK! Because it was done, we just got to be together and I appreciate it more than you know!!

Today, not much is going on here but reading and a fun little trip to HEB! SIDE NOTE: I finally did the self check out, never done it before, kind of fun! Adolfo usually does it, if we do it at all. In high school I always wanted to work at a grocery store, but never got the chance, so now I kind of feel like a little childhood dream finally came true for me today, well kind of!

Stop and sit on a bench today, and enjoy it! Love, The Castros....

We enjoyed our mojitos and played some very creative games ....
Our Bachelorette at Auslanders...

I had a great time catching up and celebrating Caroline's Big Day. We all woke up early this morning and had a light breakfast and plenty of coffee at Java Ranch before we headed home.
The rest of the afternoon we decided to just rest at home and get ready for the playoff game. Adolfo decided to grill steaks, so we just sat outside, relaxed and enjoyed the sunshine.
We hope yall enjoyed your weekend as much as we did!

Happy relaxing! The Castros.

It was short, but sweet!

My little vacation is almost over, and then it is back to the office for a couple of days. I LOVED my 3 days off. I woke up early every morning to get the most out of my day! Monday it all started with my day at the spa. My normal lady was off, so I tried someone new that was comparable. She was AMAZING, so I definitely will be going back, this was the first time I felt myself falling asleep. Again, I truly have been blessed with the most amazing and considerate husband!!!! The rest of my Monday was filled with changing my name at the social security office, DMV, and registering my car. I even treated myself to a Route 44 Vanilla DP, gotta love sonic happy hour! After that I spend the rest of the afternoon/evening out by the pool. Adolfo started back at class on Monday night, so I went home and relaxed until he got back and we did a red box movie night at home.

Tuesday, I got up early because it was my "Get things done at home day". I cleaned our house from top to bottom! Cleaned out the annoying drawers, dusted, mopped, you name it and now it feels so clean and comfortable!! Lol, I put X number of trash bags in each room and my goal was to fill each one up with junk and get it out of the room! I succeeded, poor Adolfo didn't like hauling it all down to the dumpster, but he did none the less. I started my Summer Art History class on Tuesday evening, and it sounds really interesting. I enjoy art so it seemed like a great way to do what I enjoy and get credit. I am excited because we are learning up to the Gothic period, and we will visit two art galleries were in Austin. My mom came to stay with us on Tuesday night to spend the day with me on Wednesday. Adolfo treated my mother and I to dinner at Kirby Lanes, YUM, and another red box movie at home. Are you seeing the theme?

Today, my Mom and I woke up and had an early breakfast and then we SHOPPED! I am so tired, you have no idea. I found some really cute things, dresses, jewels, shoes, so exciting! I love spending time with my mom and catching up. We had a fun day just being together and getting all we needed to get done, done. Now I am just ready to relax and enjoy the hours left of my vacation. Maybe I'll read, maybe I be a girl and try on all my new clothes or maybe I will just be still and be grateful!

It was short, but sweet. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of your week, its almost over! Ces.
