Wow, what a LONG couple of days....

After my last post things got a little eventful for the Castros! After class on Friday, Adolfo met me at one of our little favorite Mexican restaurants for Dinner and then we caught a movie, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. It was definitely one you could wait to see at home, but we had a great date night doing what we love best, I don't think our date nights will ever get old!

As we are always looking for ways to save and get us into our 1st home, we decided maybe we should start doing date mornings, how fun! No one has to get dressed, we can stay in our PJ's, early bird movies are super cheap, and breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! Why haven't we thought of this sooner?

Sunday morning I had class, and Adolfo decided to go to his parent's ranch and spend the day with them. Aurora and Alex, my MIL and FIL, LOVE being outside working on the yard, and when they finally built there home, Alex built Aurora this sweet little green house, just for her plants, flowers, and a cute little table so she could sit and watch her pretty flowers grow. Well she also has TONS of plants and rose bushes outside. Since the weather was so nice on Sunday, Adolfo helped her pull out all her pots and get the green house all ready for the summer! After class, Tay and I layed out by the pool and just read, relaxed and got a little sun.

Well, once he got home his back was not feeling so great, I gave him something for the pain and put icy hot on his back to see if it would help, it did for a little bit, but the pain got worse as the night progressed. He had to sit up really straight, and if he laid down he had trouble getting up. I felt HORRIBLE, I couldn't do anything to make it better and I couldn't help him get up without hurting him. I got upset because I didn't know what to do to make it better, he wanted to just stay in one spot, but I knew if he didn't move it would only make him stiff. So we finally started putting a hot towel on his back to relax his muscles and it seemed to help, but it was already midnight, I think we were getting up every 30 minutes to reheat, re-adjust or walk so he didn't get tight, he finally felt good enough to lay down around 6am. It was a LONG helpless night! We could not get into the doctor until 4pm this afternoon, so we just took it slow. We found a new doctor close to our house that will definitely be our new family doctor, this is exciting because I hate finding new doctors! He was great, told us we didn't have anything to worry about and gave Adolfo some medication that would help make it all better.

I said enough with the hot towels so we got his prescription and a new heating pad this evening. Now as we are supposed to be watching the Lakers together, but 24 hours later my sweet husband FINALLY fell asleep here next to me with is new hot-pad. I guess I will stay up and watch the game since it is the last quarter, and the Lakers are losing! Wouldn't that be the best ending to our crazy night, we for me at least, not so much for Adolfo.

Well, now that the mood is back to calm with the Castro's, I hope everyone has sweet dreams and a great week!

I love the weekends!

Since it has been awhile since our last post, let's play catch up! Sugarland was AMAZING, and quite entertaining. I love going to concerts and knowing all the songs and I love that they sounded exactly like they do on the radio. Our presents were bubbles and a light stick, pretty original, so if you get the chance, check them out because Tay and I had a great time.

I am finally getting back into the swing of things with my Spanish class, I am kind of burnt out and ready for it to be over already, but I have one more test and a presentation next week and then I am done, well, till my summer class, but it should be a lighter load, fingers crossed.

Since both our schedules are pretty busy we are trying to squeeze in a little vacation, even if it is only a few weekend trips to just get away and enjoy being together and doing the things we enjoy, more on that later!

A big event started this week! We started a new competition at work this week, Lester's Losers, our own version of The Biggest Loser. It is pretty exciting because I seem to add extra pounds during busy season, and well it is time to do something! Everyone at work seems really motivated and the reward isn't to shabby either. For me it started on Thursday, and it will last for three months, so I will also be letting you in on the journey. So far I my focus is just to monitor my diet, and add more activity in my life. I will definitely be going back to Curves 3X a week again!

Our house needed cleaning so I incorporated my mopping, dusting and cleaning chores into my routine, you can really get a work out. Adolfo and I also went on a walk yesterday for about an hour, and with all the hills it kicked my bottom, but we felt great after it. I love walks because I we just got to enjoy being together and catching up on things! So yeah for Lester's Losers and the changes it is going to make in our lives for the better! Any tips are greatly appreciated, I have to start our steady or else I will get burnt out too quickly.

Other than that we just hung out at home, we started our mother's day shopping, Adolfo BBQ'd and we watched movies. There was a Godfather marathon on TV last night, and well to my knowledge I never remember watching them. Well, Adolfo couldn't believe it so we missed 1, We watched 2 and recorded 3 and I must say I really enjoyed it! Partially because when I was little I always was discussing with my Mom how cool would it be if our family was in the Mob, I always thought it would be neat to be picked up from school in a black limo with men in suits and sunglasses, and have all my brothers protect me, well I never had brothers and it never happened, lol. Aside from all the violence, I thought it was cool, lol, what was wrong with me?

Well know it is almost class time, but I just wanted say hello and clue you in on the Castros, not much more.

Yeah for lunch breaks!

So today is REALLY dragging, so I felt I really needed to just step away and take my lunch break! Last night I got home did the dishes and felt really tired, I went to bed at around 9:30 last night which is really early for me. I had a huge list of things to get done and well, now I have things to do tonight. Isn't it funny how we think going to bed early will make us full of energy the next day, well it didn't work, it made me sleepier! Many cups of coffee and breaks later, I am still struggling.

Things have calmed down a little for the Castros, we are trying to finish our semester strong, as well as sign up for a few summer classes, I can't wait to be finished and start sitting for the test already! It really makes you put into perspective how bad you want something when you go through all this work, when really all you want to be doing is enjoying your off time, but I keep reminding myself we are doing it for our future family one day and it is all going to be worth every second of hard work we put in.

So not much more happening here. I am so excited because Taylor and I got tickets for Thursday night to go see the Sugarland concert here in Austin. I love Sugarland and always said if they are in the area we are going, well no we are, and I am so excited!

Boat + Bachelorette = Weekend of Parties!

Wow is it really April 21st already? Where is the time going! With busy season almost coming to an end our Firm held our Annual End of Busy Season celebration. We rented a party boat on Lake Travis on Friday and just enjoyed relaxing, being on the water, and hanging out with friends!

Our night was so entertaining, work parties never let you down. We have such a fun group of people in our office and I love every opportunity we get to all get together like this, not just in the office on Saturdays during busy season, lol, even though those are fun too sometimes! Our night ended as our boat pulled up to the doc and we noticed police, fire trucks and the news! It seems as though others were having just as much fun as us, so much that they drove their truck and boat trailer into Lake Travis, what a night!

Saturday I had to get up real early in the morning and head to Marble Falls for my cousins Bachelorette Weekend!

The Bride and Bridesmaids spending the morning at the Spa, it was so relaxing, I had never had a hot stone massage, I will definitely be getting one of those again!

Next we went to Chilli's on the Lake for an early start, lol, to waste time we did drinks and appetizers, YUM! Me and Ashly on our end of the table with great drinks and deep conversation!

Next stop, of course we had to enjoy the great drinks, some music and pick up some more friends along the way....

Finally the festivities began....The girls....

And we definitely danced our little hearts out!

Needless to say as Sunday came around we were exhausted! I woke up to a homemade breakfast Aunt Julie prepared, just like old time, and then it was on the road back to Austin for class and few hours in the office. It was so fun getting to celebrate with Elizabeth in anticipation of the big day this Saturday, where I am positive we will be having just as much fun, if not more!

Adolfo spent the weekend preparing for exams this week, and on Saturday he went with his confirmation sponsor and his wife to surprise his sister at the candle light devo at her weekend retreat! We are so proud of what she is doing for her and her family and Adolfo just wanted to go and let her know how much we love and support her!

So this week is already going by too fast and we do have a great deal on our plate, but we are blessed to spend every moment with the ones we love, and we are lucky to be able share in all these beautiful memories!!!! Love, The Castros.

Easter Weekend 2009, Oh the joy!

Adolfo and I had a pretty eventful Easter weekend. Adolfo decided to stay in Austin for Easter to spend some time with his family on Friday night and Sunday. They had a great time spending time together with a Fish Fry on Friday night and a BBQ on Sunday. They just hung out at the ranch pitching washers and being together.

After class on Friday evening, I drove into JC to spend the weekend with the family since I had not seen them since Kris and PJ's wedding. Friday when I got into town we all went and hung out with Heather and Gerald. Saturday I got to finally sleep in a little bit. We headed to good 'ol Super S to get the items that we needed for our Easter Dinner and made my JC trip to Suzy Q's.

While we were there Tay and Kelsey put their heads together and felt like taking on a little arts and craft project, lol. Neither had ever made friendship bracelets, so I taught them how, and 3 hours later, lol, they were done. Talk about keeping them both quiet and busy...

I just helped my mom out, and put together Abbie and Ellie's Easter baskets, since we were so excited for them to arrive later that evening! They like to match.

So we were still waiting for Bobby, Sarah, Abbie and Ellie, so we thought it appropriate to pass time with a little music, by the one and only Glitterless...

Later that evening we went back to H&G's and make deserts and dyed Easter eggs, well drew Easter eggs for me, and waited some more for our family...

Watching without a Trace....

Well tonight has made for a very relaxing evening, and I have made dinner two nights in a row, this is a big deal, and now I am just relaxing in the recliner and watching Without a Trace, until Adolfo gets home.

I have been wanting to spend some time outside enjoying the sunshine, but it has just been too cool, so today since it finally warmed up a little, Tay and I thought we would sit by the pool and get a little sun while we still had time. Tay decided it would be a great idea to jump into the freezing cold water, not me though, I enjoyed the hot tub, it was so relaxing.

I hope everyone enjoyed your Tuesday as much as we did, as for the Castros, its time for a nice glass of wine, a blanket and date night with our DVR.

Weekend Recap with the Castros...

Well, this weekend was busy here at the Castros to say the least! Friday Adolfo attended another one of his martial arts class, he has really enjoyed his classes and it has kept him pretty busy these past couple of weeks. I had my test in Spanish and I did way better than I thought, I got an 88 which is way better than I thought I would do, so I was happy. Tay came over because we planned a Shopping Day together with our Mom. Friday night after class we just grabbed dinner and relaxed.

Saturday I got up really early and went to the Honda dealership to get my oil change, it was something I had been trying to do for awhile and I finally made some time, even if it was at 7am on a Saturday morning! So I waited, wrote Thank you's and sat at a sweet little coffee house on Lamar, just to get the news that my car had to stay a little longer to fix a safety issue, I said go ahead and fix it, so I made Tay come pic me up. She is learning Austin more and more because of all the errands we make her run for us, Thanks Tay!

My Mom came into town for some serious shopping, I was so excited to see her because we hadn't seen eachother since Kris and PJ's wedding, and we usually see one another way more than that! So we definitely had a list of priority items that we needed, but there were also some awesome sales. Our GAP child, Tay, had been researching some shorts at the GAP and we found them, I needed shoes for Elizabeth's wedding and I found those as well! And the rest of the time we just shopped, shopped and shopped some more. I treated my mother and Tay to Olive Garden and we just had a happy day just spending time with one another and catching up. Thanks Tay for being such a sport! I think she was done after we left Academy, and we still had 3 more stores to hit, lol. My mother and I are so much alike, we take our time and like to look at everything and Tay is in and out. I do think we found her new favorite place though, Right Tay?

Sunday was our day to rest and get prepared for the week. I had class and a little bit of work to catch up on. I have been waiting for this cold weather to leave already because I am ready to play in the sun, we are ready to hang out by the pool and just get some sun and relax. I was told I was the same color as Tay, that can't be a good thing, lol!

So Today we decided to go for a walk it was too windy, so we decided to walk through the sports complex by our house, and there were tons of little league baseball games going on, so Tay and I stopped to watch and I saw the cutest thing! The little T-ball team we watched was hot pink and black and named the Divas, they were the most precious thing I have seen in awhile, lol! So the walk was nice, but it did nothing for us physically, lol. Oh well, we got out of the house.

Well this blog seems to be full of randomness, but hey, thats kinda how its going here at the Castros. We are ready for summer and have a great deal of events coming up in the new future. Oh yeah and on a fun note we sold our first thing on Craigslist. We had this little brown livingroom table that we didn't use anymore and Adolfo posted it today and it sold within a couple of hours, no it is out of my living room and I didn't have to lift a finger, and we put money in our pockets, even better. Ok, I really am done now!
