What have we been up to?

Not so much going on at the Castro's.... What I am doing, well what I should be doing...

What I wish I was doing...

What I bought this weekend, yeah! Sandwich plates....I got so sick of using our nice dishes for simple dinners, don't get me wrong, I love them, but we needed something more everyday...so after many months of searching for the perfect little plastic plate, here is what I found, aren't they precious, so come on over for one of my great sandwiches and test them out....

What has Adolfo been doing? Watching Basketball and resting for his big test this week. He is also recuperating from his big Aikido seminar/training he went to all weekend...which means my weekend was full of "Hey babe let me show you this new move" and I just said OK, knock me over again please, lol...

What has Tay been doing? Nice studying Tay, I feel an A coming on, Isn't my teddy bear cute, its was part of my 1st Christmas gift Adolfo ever gave me. I love teddy bears, and it kinda looked like him!

So, nothing new at the Castro's, but its only Monday. Adolfo thought that we should change up the page a little and this is what we got. We hope you all enjoy the rest of your week! As for us its back to the books ;)!

Weekend at the Ranch....

This past weekend Adolfo and I spent part of our weekend with our Grandparents at the Ranch. Since the fire, they have decided to stay at their ranch until they finish building their new house.
It was also our Spring Break, so I didn't have class on Friday or Sunday and I hadn't see my grandparents in awhile. I called my Grandma and she told us to come visit and stay the night. So Adolfo and I packed up to stay the night. We had such a fun time just hanging out. My Grandpa had surgery in March so he is still recovering, so it was good to just spend time with him also. Friday, we had a nice dinner, helped feed bottles the baby cows and then we just sat around and talked, I LOVE our talks.

My Grandma had to go into the restaurant Saturday morning, so Adolfo and I went into town for breakfast and then we decided to tackle a project we have had in mind for awhile. There is something therapeutic about turning old treasures into new ones!

If you know my Grandma, you know she loves garage sales! Well this was something she bought about a year ago, and it was in her storage. One weekend when we were going through all her treasures, I saw it and fell in love with it. I told her please don't get rid of it, and that Adolfo and I promised to refinish it.

After breakfast, Adolfo and I made a trip to Home Depot to get our supplies, 3 hours later:

Isn't it the most precious thing ever! I love it even more!! My grandma was so excited we FINALLY completed it, I told her we would I just didn't say when, ha. It was SO much work, but worth every second, thanks babe for pushing me, I am still sore, lol! It wasn't an easy job, washing, sanding, painting, painting again, but it was so fun, how ironic!

So, my Grandma is going to keep it in her new house in the guest room, only until Adolfo and I decide to add a new addition to our family, it will be ours, for all our hard work! Yeah!

So my Grandpa was so excited to just visit, he wanted to BBQ for us, not just any old BBQ though, he wanted us to grill over a camp fire. You should have seen Adolfo and I collecting wood and well trying to start a fire, lol! But we did, see:

We had a beautiful dinner, thanks grandma and grandpa! It was so special getting to spend with you both. The rest of the evening we just sat on the porch with our limonade, and dessert, and just talked and talked, its kind of what we do best! I loved being in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing. At night we slept with only the screen door closed, and woke up to a cool breeze and sunshine! Thank you again for the great idea grandma we loved it!

I love pens....

Since I can remember I loved to color, doodle, you name it.

I can spend hours at a store just looking at all the new markers, pens, pencils, I love them all.

I am picky about the darkness of lead, how smooth and how thick a pen writes, and how comfortable and cute they are. I think everyone should have an emergency box of markers, colors and pens and pencils because, well you never know when you might need them. Especially sharpies! I always took Tay's and well, Thanks Tay.

Sidetrack:
When I got my first "professional" job, Adolfo surprised me with a gift from Paradise Pen Company. He got me a nice fountain pen, you know for all the important documents I will sign in my lifetime, and a pen and pencil set engraved with my name on it. I thought it was such a sweet and thoughtful gift, lol, I am falling in love all over again, thanks babe!

Well since I have so many I never use any of them up. Well today is the day, today on this day I have used up my 1st complete Pilot Gel Pen, lol. At the great age of 26, it has finally happened, lol, happiness is in the small things right? Well I laughed and it kind of made my day. Now I hope I have another one in my bag because heaven's forbid I have to use different ink on what I am working on!

Well my early lunch break is over, and it is back to the books...have a wonderful Friday and a beautiful weekend!

What a beautiful day!

Well I must say it has been awhile, no new pics this blog, but I can leave definitely leave a mental picture as to how my day is going! I am finally getting to take a short lunch break.

Last night, after I got off work there was still daylight left, which is rare, so Adolfo and I took a walk and decided to play a little one on one basketball at the courts near our house. It has been too long so I am feeling the effects today, sore arms and legs, but I feel completely energetic! We both won a game each, although I thought I got robbed and should have sweeped him, I am just saying.

Well, I was off for a great day today, early to the client's until this nice lady next to me on mopac politely informed me I had a flat, YES! This time I was able to get to a side street without holding up Mopac traffic, and I called Adolfo and my ever so punctual Honda road side assistance. They took care of me in less than 20 minutes. It took longer for me to get to Discount tire and get a new tire put on, but all is well, and instead of thinking about how this little fiasco made me late to work, I choose to focus on how sweet it was for God to give me a moment to be still and just enjoy the beautiful day we are having here in Austin today! Thank you!

Now I am back at work, like a busy bee! I am looking forward to dinner with two of my friends from work tonight and our 1st board meeting together with YMA.

Kris and PJ's Wedding...

This past weekend my cousin Kris married his High School sweetheart, PJ. Thank you so much for letting us share in this special day! We wish you many years of love and happiness. Welcome to the family PJ! No more words, the pictures explain it all....

Weddings, Deadlines, Spanish, Long nights .....

So these are just a few things that have been filling up my life lately. I am definitely missing out on friends and family time, but it is just the way it is right now at this time in our lives, BUSY!

This is my third week away from home and I really miss Adolfo, so I can't wait for the wedding on Saturday to just step away from work and school for a little bit and enjoy my Husband, a sweet wedding (That isn't mine, lol), and time with my family all in one place!

Jaime and Claudia are coming in on Friday night, and I am super excited! Christmas was the last time I saw my sister. Claudia is definitely the cook out of us two, so they are coming in for the wedding and cooking Adolfo and I dinner on Friday night, I love it! Thanks guys.

Happy Birthday, Chona, my dear sweet and ever so strong little sister!

We have gone through so many things in life together, and there was never a moment that you were not right by my side, I appreciate you and everything you do for me.

I admire you so much, and although you are my little sister, I look up to you in so many ways. Here are just a few simple, sweet things I love about you....

1. Your strength - Things have not always been easy for you, and times have been challenging, but you did not quit and you are stronger for it. Your persistence, faith in our family and God is so strong, and it is such a beautiful quality and part of the strength I see in you.

2. Your Honesty - You are the truest of friends, and I can always count on you to keep me in line and stay true to who I am. You know who you are and you do not beat around the bush, for anyone, and I admire that about you, your honesty and confidence is such a beautiful strength I see in you.

3. Your vision of Hope - I have never met someone so strong about passionate about touching the lives of others just because....the way you are so driven to make a change any way you can whether it is giving a million ours or just helping your fellow employees receive a lower insurance payment just because you know it would help them out, it touches my heart and inspires me to always check that I am doing my part as well! You a strong women, but you have such a compassionate and tender heart, and I love that about you!

My list could continue forever, you are just that special to me. You are a beautiful, compassionate, strong, and driven women, and I am so proud that you are my sister, Happy Birthday Claudia, and always I believe in you and am confident you will succeed in anything you chose to put your heart in! ON ANOTHER NOTE -

This weekend has been pretty busy, I have put a great deal of hours in at the office, even made Tay come on Saturday, lol, even seeing what I do she still doesn't want to be an Accounting major, why Tay?

I am almost off to my Spanish Class, it is crazy what I am learning and picking up, kind of exciting!

But I am so TIRED and ready for a little break and sleep! This evening I hope to quickly pack and then enjoy the rest of my weekend doing NOTHING with Adolfo, the things we wish for as we grow older and wiser!!!
