Where did our weekend go?

Weekends go by entirely too fast, This weekend is already October! Which means another wedding (We have been patiently waiting for), my mom's family pic-nic with work, and Halloween Parties!!! Really where does the time go? This weekend we went Jeremy's wedding. He is Adolfo's childhood bestfriend, man they have some stories. His grandmother was so sweet, this is the first time I met her, and when she saw Adolfo she just squeezed him, and asked for her daughter (that's me, ha)! He has such a beautiful family, and the wedding was so special, I am so grateful they let us be a part of their special day, with their close family.

After the wedding dinner, we were still not ready to go home. We went to a restaurant by our house and listened to live music, had a couple of drinks and just enjoyed being outdoors...it was so relaxing and a great way to end the evening.
The next day we were invited to one of Adolfo's co-workers house to BBQ and just meet each other. They were so welcoming and we had a wonderful time, we will definitely have to do that again, next time our place!

We definitely could have used one more day of relaxation! But if I can just get through this week I will be a happy girl and then it's back to the Hill Country for us for an all day PEC family pic-nic! So pray that we get through this week, and my test goes well! Which means I need to get off of here, and hit the books again.

I am so grateful for the special moments in life with great family and friends, we are blessed beyond what we deserve, and everyday I am amazed by God's grace and love for us, and the joy He brings to our lives daily!

Study day 1 of 4, The Castros.

Lucky Day!

What a great day today was, so I'm calling it my lucky day. First, we just wanted to say a special happy 25th birthday to jughead, WOW, we are getting old! Mom told me her and Curt were talking and Curt couldn't believe how old you turned, lol, he was shocked and said dang, he's half my age, lol. I think at that moment he realized how old he was, lol....Wish we could all be together to celebrate, we are definitely thinking of you! I think I should share a memory of jughead that I hold dear to my heart.....Here it goes......

When we were little and lived by Grandma and Grandpa, me, Claudia, Jughead and nell played together all the time, the boys were always up to something outside. When I was young my hair was really LONG, and my Grandma Marie loved it! She never wanted me to cut it, EVER, not even trims....My sister Claudia always got the short hair, and I would always ask my mom why I couldn't have short hair too! So I remember one day I went and got my hair cut to my shoulders...I LOVED IT! But I knew I would not go to Grandma's for awhile, and I was only going if my Mom went with me. I remember being in our house, not wanting to go outside in fear that Grandma would see me. At that moment, we hear a knock and it is jughead, I will never forget his big sweet smile, and he says....Hey, lets go play at Grandma's no one is over there, I PROMISE, ha! Claudia was like yeah lets go, Celeste no one is over there, they made up some lie about where Grandma was......so I trusted them and we decided to go play, well it felt like a really long walk to my grandparents and I still felt nervous about going inside, but I believed them. I made them go in first, and right as I went up the step, Guess who was sitting on her stool starring right at me????Grandma! They lied, and I couldn't say anything! And she started to cry! I mean my hair went from my butt to my shoulders, she was shocked. I went and told her it was ok it would grow back, and then I see Claudia, nell and Jughead laughing, MEAN! Grandma still loves my long hair, and plays with it now that it is longer, but she likes my short hair too, NOW! Ah, what memories! This is bringing back so many stories, at a later date I suppose! NOTE TO FAMILY: I CHALLENGE YOU TO POST YOUR FAVORITE STORY AT GRANDMA'S! So, to wrap it up, Happy Birthday Jughead, no matter what, I love you and am so proud of the wonderful young man you have become!

On another note, My lucky day....I am feeling better and I finally got to go back to work. Feeling a little stressed about being behind, I get to the office and my meeting for the day had to be post-poned, my schedule got pushed back a week, and my test in FSA got moved a week! Love it, it gives me a whole week to get ahead, and a weekend of studying, no pressure! My class just laughed a me tonight, because as she was telling us the shift, she gave us an awesome review, and I said out loud, Yes, this is my lucky day! I meant to just think it, but I was really excited, I guess, so glad I feel comfortable with everyone. I am so grateful it is Friday, and I am feeling better and I can get back on track. Adolfo's week went well, he had his first test and it went great! He's just been relaxing, working out, PLENTY of videos games with my cousins in SA, and laundry (Perk for me!).

So I guess the Castros are just getting things done!

Happy first day of Fall 2009!!!!

What a wonderful time of year!!! The weather was super rainy today and a cool front blew in, it was even cool enough for Tay to pull out a hoodie....we are some crazy Texans, it just has to get below 70 and we will pull out all the fall greatness....sweaters, hats, scarfs...well maybe not yet but you get the picture, it was a little breezy and felt amazing!

On another note, I came home from work today because I felt CRUMMY! I have been feeling something coming on, and I lasted through a productive Monday, but I couldn't take it today. I went in for a morning meeting and then it was back home for me. I picked up some medicine and then enjoyed the comfort of my home. I changed into my PJs and rested on the couch, with my NyQuil, soft Kleenex, cozy blanket and some hot cider, if that doesn't work, then I don't know whats wrong with me, ha!

I am feeling a little better since I got to rest, and tomorrow is a really important day at our firm and I want to be a part of it so badly, so pray that I feel better in the AM! Update everyone on that tomorrow!!!!

Thank you Lord, for the rain and the newness fall brings, it is definitely The Castros FAVORITE time of year! I am so grateful for the shelter you have provided us, and pray that everyone without a home this evening is safe and able to find shelter from the wind and rain. Although I am sick today, I am even more grateful for my health and grateful you have provided me with the means to properly get better, I pray one day all families are able care for their loved ones through the same opportunities I have been blessed with, Thank you!

Our Hunting Weekend...

Adolfo and I spent the weekend at my Grandparent's ranch. We got the chance to catch up with some of my cousins I haven't seen in a really long time, and just relax. Friday night, my Grandma made dinner and we all caught up over a nice glass of wine, and the night was over. The whole point of the trip was so that I could go on my 1st Dove Hunt....so Saturday morning we got up at 6:30 and headed to our family friend's lease.

It was so beautiful and peaceful being up that early just waiting with Adolfo. He brings so many fun things into my life that I know I wouldn't have tried otherwise! With him it's always just a little more exciting! It wasn't the best day, and we waited awhile before a few doves came our way, but when they did we were ready! We don't see many beautiful sunrises together, but when we do I enjoy every second, and this was one of those mornings!

Adolfo's ready, so of course I wanted a picture, he just told me, "Babe, no more pictures after we start hunting, ha Yes Dear!"

Then it was my turn! AMAZINGLY FUN! I didn't hit anything, but oh the adrenaline that went through me right before I pulled the trigger was awesome! No birds for me, I think I might have even closed my eyes the first time, but it was awesome! I definitely want to shoot a gun again, not necessarily go hunting, but shoot a gun, DEFINITELY!

This was such a fun experience, and I am so grateful I got to spend this time with my husband, doing what he loves to do, and just having fun! I have HORRIBLE allergies, and we found out quick that I wouldn't be invited back for Deer Hunting in November, haha. I would scare them all away because I didn't stop sneezing until 9AM, and that just wouldn't be acceptable. I can live with that, haha!

Patiently waiting (like a little kid) for the weekend, ha!

I am so excited my class is over for the week, I was really able to follow what we went over this evening, so maybe I can do this!

The Castros are tightening up our budget, we already to a good job at following our budgets, but we need to a little bit more because the holidays are quickly approaching, and we love to go all out, so we need to start a little early.

I love budgets, reconciling, seeing our money work for us, you know the fabulous world of finance!!! Every so often I get in a rut and I feel like we are completely spoiled, we are living with WAY more stuff then 2 people need, and I want to simplify, so the time is upon us again just in time for the holidays!

Having said that, you know how when you are in a store and you have no money in your pocket, and everything you have ever wanted is in that one store, and it all fits you perfectly, yeah well that is how I feel at the moment, but we set our financial goals, and we are sticking to them, because they are so worth it!

Although we said no buying, A girl can look....

I love the sincerity of a personal hand written note, I always have. I LOVE stationary, and just making peoples day, computers, emails, texts are great, but they don't do it for me like a sweat little hello. Just taking that time to tell someone you are special enough to me to take a break, and personally right you a note :)! I have been looking FOREVER for our Castro stamp, and look what I found....but we are on a budget, ha....just imagine with The Castros in the middle, love it!

We made a commitment and I am sticking with it! Are you proud of me Babe, ha! Christmas can't get here soon enough!

I am super excited for this weekend. Figures crossed great weather, and great football. We are hanging out with my Grandparents at the ranch, and will be doing a little hunting, eating, and football watching, I love getting away from the city sometimes! Pure relaxation, and catching up!

Our camo is packed, our licenses are purchased, now we just have to wait for Friday to come to an end! Yeah!

Random Tuesday with The Castro....

Today was very productive, I completed everything on my list below, Thank goodness! I have definitely been scattered here lately, so it is only appropriate that my blogs reflect that. So, funny story...

A couple of weekends ago I took my sewing machine to my Grandma's house to help me finish up my apron. Well, I was showing her all my supplies, and my favorite tools and fabric, and as we are discussing why she would rather do a quick hand stitch rather than just pinning the fabric, she asks me if I have a simple needle and thread, ha.....guess who didn't have a basic needle and thread! So my Mom and Grandma had a little laugh, and told me everyone should always have a basic needle and thread....My whole deal was ladies, why would I need a needle and a thread if I have a sewing machine, isn't that the purpose? Well, looks like I still have tons to learn.....So my Mom and Tay stayed in Austin this weekend while we were in Dallas, and when I got home, My Mom left me a treat....

Looks like I'll never run out of needles, hahaha!

Tay loves to remind me ALL THE TIME how short I am....she will watch me attempt to take things from the high shelves and laugh and see how long I try until I just yell TAY and she comes to help....So when we were thinking about dinner this evening, as she contemplated our freezer, we noticed WOW TAY YOU ARE TALLER THEN OUR FRIDGE!

So, we thought it would be funny to see how I matched up, ha, definitely have room to grow, see my bread? Yep, that's a daily struggle too!

This evening Adolfo and I took a trip to Academy and we purchased my Hunting license, random I know, but I figured as a good wife, I should support my husband and all his wonderful habits so, Saturday morning, EARLY morning, we are going to get up and I will experience my 1st dove hunt! Really I just want to shoot the gun, if I hit a bird even better, but I love just spending time with him in his element, he gets so excited! Wish me luck!

Then we get home this evening to watch the season finale of The Cleaners, we are addicted to that show! and as we sit to start the DVR, Adolfo manages to spill his tea ALL over our living room, I am still seeing it in slow motion, haha! So we spent a good while cleaning up the mess and then enjoying The Cleaners, how ironic, ha....

Oh yeah one more funny thing! So we stopped by Target to get Adolfo some pencils, and I was looking at Sharpies, cause I LOVE Sharpies, and I was reading the package and I couldn't stop laughing it said, "No smearing, after dry", well DUH! Why can't I get paid to think of stuff like that??? I mean just imagine that meeting....

Like I said, pretty random evening with the Castros....I beat, time for bed, sweet dreams!

Restless...

Is it really only MONDAY, ha! I don't know why I can't seem to focus, work was great, then I came home, and AHHH!

Last night I made this wonderful list of things I was going to accomplish this week, and even if I didn't get to it tonight it has to be done this week!!! My Monday was to call Grandma, workout, clean up a little bit, and then go the coffee shop to read for a few hours, well that was the plan...I don't know how we make such a mess sometimes, and and it's just us, just wait till we have Baby C's all over the place, ha!

I called my Grandma on my way home, but I didn't leave work till 6:30 so that already put me to about 7:30, I felt like my night was over! But I am so grateful for our wonderful conversations and wisdom she shares with me, it is such special time we will never get back so it is worth it, but apparently I come 2nd to Novellas, go figure? Adolfo and I are going to spend some time at the ranch this weekend with my Grandparents, just some relaxation, a little dove hunting and the Longhorns! And big bowl of popcorn as my Grandma says, lol...

I am taking care of the house tonight! AHHH! I feel so much better, oh and keep my mentee in your prayers, we meet on Wednesday, oh and Tay too! She starts her direct observations tomorrow, 1st sport Lady Longhorns Volleyball!!! I am so excited for her.....by the end of the year she will have observed every sport, so much fun, I NEVER got to do that in Accounting, ha!
